President's Page January 2012 Dear Colleagues, It is my privilege to join the Executive Board in moving CCPIO into 2012, the organization's 21st year of supporting court public information professionals. Board members John Kostouros (Minnesota), president elect; Beth Riggert (Missouri), secretary; Kathryn Dolan (Indiana), treasurer; Barbara Hood (Alaska), membership chairman; and Kathy Arberg (Washington, D.C.), immediate past president, and I will be working together to help guide the organization. CCPIO is a unique organization in that we are small, about 120 members representing state and federal judiciaries, but mighty by virtue of the fact that people attracted to this line of work are passionate, creative, multi-talented, over-achievers who hold themselves to the highest professional standards. The candidness, sincerity in helping colleagues, and information shared on our listserve combined with the annual conference and research are valuable resources as each of us wears many hats through the course of every day. Our 21st annual conference will be in St. Petersburg, FL, at the Vinoy Renaissance July 29-Aug. 1. Molly Justice, DeLand, FL, is heading up the planning committee that includes both CCPIO and Florida Court Public Information Officers' members. This will be a homecoming of sorts as the Florida contingency has long been a strong contributor to our organization, but have been facing significant budgetary restrictions in their state and, thus, have been limited in attending the conference the past few years. If you are a court public information officer who is not a member, we hope you will consider joining our organization. One of the valuable membership benefits for PIOs is an exclusive email listserv where problems and solutions are exchanged among members, often on a daily basis. Regards, Karen Salaz
